Karangahake Gorge Walkway

Step back in time and wander along the photogenic railway once used

for mining purposes. Head here to decided on which route to take.

The Pinnacles

The Coromandel is home to a wealth of walking and tramping tracks,

some quite leisurely and others more challenging. Both coastal and

inland walks offer infinite variety; magnificent views of sea and land,

lush forest and bush, clear streams and waterfalls, as well as up close

and personal looks at some of the region’s fascinating logging and

mining history. Here Carmen heads out on one of the most popular

overnight walks in the country, the spectacular Pinnacles Walk in the

heart of the ranges.

Razorback ridge lines, ripping winds, rugged

rainforest and homely huts. Climbing the Pinnacles in

the Coromandel was an adventure, to say the least.
